The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery presented Ma Food Mart in Pine Bluff a $20,000 bonus check Friday for selling a $2 million Powerball ticket for the Sept. 5 drawing. This year, the lottery has awarded almost $984,000 in commissions to retailers in Jefferson County, according to a news release.
Retailers receive a 1% commission from the sales of winning lottery products. Since 2009, lottery retailers in Arkansas have received more than $291 million in commissions.
