Lost opportunity

President Trump had the opportunity to become one of our great American presidents, but he tossed it in the garbage can. Instead of standing up for freedom lovers in Ukraine and all over the world, he let the Communist liar and mass murderer, Putin, go back to Moscow feeling victorious.
I believe Trump knows right from wrong, and he surely knows that Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine, yet he treats President Zelenskyy as though he is a non-person regarding peace plans. There can never be an end to the war if it depends on Zelenskyy handing over his own country to Putin.

Trump is always talking about making deals, and I have come to be afraid that getting the deal that he has in mind is always more important to him than doing what is right, when the two are not the same.
I wish that he had told Putin in plain words to get his troops out of Ukraine and keep them out, but he let the opportunity pass. It could well have marked the end of America as the greatest nation in the history of the world; as our leader joins hands with the Russian encroacher. God forbid.
