Log-truck accident sends both drivers to hospital

A two-vehicle accident involving an overturned log truck sent both drivers to the hospital and caused traffic diversions Tuesday at Blake Street and Miramar Drive.

Their injuries were described by police as non-life-threatening.

The accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. According to a press release from Pine Bluff Police Officer Richard Wegner, the preliminary investigation indicates a log truck going north on Blake Street overturned as it negotiated the curve at Miramar Street. A Cadillac sitting at the stop sign on Miramar Street was struck by the truck and load of logs.

The log-truck driver was issued a citation for failure to maintain control, Wegner said.
