A livestock informational meeting covering timely production practices and economics of livestock production is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the S.J. Parker 1890 Extension Complex auditorium at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
Sponsored by the UAPB Small Farm Program, the meeting will cover herd health, winter feeding, body condition score, preparing for calving, marketing and the economics of cow/calf production. Pasture management topics include soil fertility, weed control and grazing management. The Livestock Forage Disaster Program will also be discussed as Jan. 30 is the deadline to sign up for disaster payments to help offset grazing losses due to the 2015 drought.
