The Jefferson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is selling lights on the Community Christmas Tree to be placed in honor or in memory of someone special.
Lights are $3. A card of acknowledgement will also be sent to the honoree and he or she will be invited to the lighting ceremony. Donations will be accepted and acknowledgement cards sent through December.
The tree will be lighted during a holiday ceremony at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, in the front lobby of JRMC, followed by refreshments and a performance by the Jenkins Choir.
“The tree lighting is a large fundraiser for the auxiliary,” a spokesman said in a news release. “In addition to providing volunteer services for JRMC, the auxiliary makes numerous monetary donations to the hospital and related events throughout the year.”
To purchase a light or make a donation to the Community Christmas Tree, call JRMC Volunteer Coordinator Debbie Tole at 541-7269 or talk with any auxiliary member.
