Letter carriers to collect food on routes May 9

Residents are asked to leave non-perishable food donations at the their mailboxes Saturday, May 9, to be picked up by letter carriers.

The effort is a part of the Letter Carrier Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Food can be left in a bag near a mailbox. It will be picked up and taken to a local food bank.

“Over the past 22 years, we have a made a huge difference with our Letter Carrier Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive and we will continue this work as long as the need exists,” Lyndia Hardin, coordinator of the National Association of Letter Carriers 2015 Branch 240 Food Drive, said in a news release.
