Letter carrier food drive benefits Neighbor to Neighbor

Neighbor to Neighbor thanks the local letter carriers and residents who made the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive a success, according to a news release.

Mail carriers in Jefferson County collected 25,000 pounds of non-perishable food items during their food drive May 13.

The food was distributed between Neighbor to Neighbor, the Salvation Army, the White Hall Food Pantry and Delta Resources, according to the release.

“Summer is a difficult time for organizations that rely on community donations,” said Charlotte England, executive director of Neighbor to Neighbor. “With vacations and sports activities going on, people often cut back on charitable giving. The letter carrier food drive gives us a much needed boost during the summer months.”
