People of Pine Bluff had better wake up and realize the public’s business is being conducted behind closed doors. Of the people, by the people and for the people is all a big joke. Anyone who thinks Pine Bluff city business is “the people rule” is sadly mistaken. Decisions appear to be in a back room, so the people can’t see or hear how the mayor can bully the council into voting the way he wants them to. It should be conducted in front of the public, not behind closed doors.
We should demand transparency in all government. If Congress were really there to work for the people, all this blame and protesting wouldn’t be going on.
We here in Pine Bluff should be protesting city hall to demand that our business be really ours and not just for the selfish wants of the few.
The only one that has the nerve to question the motives of the council is Steven Mays of the fourth ward. Thank you Mr. Mays for speaking out, even though the Great Redus always slams him down. Kudos to you, Mr. Mays.
