Lakeside United Methodist Church at Pine Bluff will take its youth department, adult members and volunteers to northeast Arkansas to assist families affected by the early springtime flooding. Interested volunteers are invited to participate.
The group will travel Sunday through Thursday, June 25-29, to work with people near the Lawrence County/Walnut Ridge areas.
The projects will include hanging sheet-rock, repairing floors, and light finishing work, such as painting and/or trimming. Lodging will be at Wayland Springs Campgrounds at Imboden. The cost is $110.
“We have an on-going fundraiser in which interested individuals can participate,” Lakeside youth minister, Special Sanders, said in a news release. “Our goal is to take at least 25 people on this trip. This is a great opportunity for any youth, students or adults that are looking for short-term mission/volunteer work this summer. Documentation of each volunteer’s work will be provided.”
Interested participants should contact the youth minister, Special Sanders, at Lakeside United Methodist Church, 534-6241.
