HOT SPRINGS — Arkansas-Little Rock women’s basketball team held off a Middle Tennessee team that eliminated a 22-point deficit in the second half to win 71-70 in overtime and secure the team’s second-straight Sun Belt Conference Tournament title and third-straight NCAA berth. The Trojans also recorded the team’s fifth-straight 20-win season and are now 20-12 overall.
Taylor Ford hit the game winner with nine seconds on the clock and contributed 13 points and a team-high seven assists in the win.
Taylor Gault, the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, led the team with 20 points. Marian Kursh recorded a double-double with 18 points and a team-high 16 rebounds earning All-Tournament team honors.
Janette Merriex added 11 points, while Britteni Williams recorded nine points and eight rebounds in the win.
