After a rough home opener, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women’s basketball team returns to the road this week.
UAPB will face Louisiana-Monroe at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe, La., on ESPN+.
UAPB (1-2) is looking to get back on track. After knocking off Memphis in the season opener, the Lady Lions have lost their past two games by an average of 43 points.
In Wednesday’s home opener against Sam Houston, UAPB shot a season-high 35.4% from the field but attempted a season-low 48 shots after committing 31 turnovers.
Junior guards Jailah Pelly and Indiya Bowen continue to lead the team in scoring with 15.7 and 14.7 points per game, respectively, but no other player is averaging more than 5.7.

ULM (3-0) has started the season perfect at home and will try to continue that on Sunday. The Warhawks won their first three games by an average of 12 points. Their most recent game was a 74-55 win against Grambling State.
Four Warhawks are averaging double digits, led by guard J’Mani Ingram’s 13 points per game. As a team, ULM is scoring 74.7 points per game and shoots a blistering 46.6 percent from the field. The Warhawks average four made 3-pointers per game.
This will be the first of four straight road games for UAPB, including two this week in north Louisiana. The Lady Lions will travel to Louisiana Tech on Tuesday, a team ULM defeated 70-62 on Nov. 7 in Monroe.
