Lady Dogs open March 13

Three Lady Bulldogs of White Hall High School Softball Team are M.I.A., but not entirely. The three young ladies are also White Hall girls’ basketball players and they are obligated to the basketball team to finish out the season. White Hall girls basketball record is currently 15-7, making them eligable for the state tournament later this week.

Fourteen year head coach Terri Smith said she can’t get the basketball girls until the basketball season was over. For the rest of the team, Coach Smith said “Right now, we are looking pretty good. We will know more after the softball tournament”. The Lady Bulldogs will play in a tournament at Sylvan Hills this week.

The Lady Bulldogs return six starters that were the driving force from last years team that finished 13-1 in league play and won the 5A-Southeast Conference Championship. They finished the year at 24-4. Coach Smith said, “several girls on the team have worked hard during the off season to get better, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.”

The Lady Bulldogs first home game will be March 13, against West Helena. Game time is 4 p.m.
