The Jefferson County Sixth Division Teen Court Diversion Program will conduct a Teen Dating Violence Prevention Awareness seminar. The event will be held from 4-5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at the Jack Jones Juvenile Justice Center, 301 E. Second Ave.
Panelists will be Bessie Lancelin, clinical director with Southeast Arkansas Behavioral Healthcare; Pine Bluff Chief of Police Jeff Hubanks; and 11th Judicial District West Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Bryan Achorn. Refreshments will be served.
The Arkansas General Assembly approved and the governor signed into law Act 952 of 2015, which requires that dating violence awareness must be added to the curriculum that is taught in the health courses of students in the seventh through 12th grades.
