Jefferson Regional Medical Center will host a Mammography Open House at Jefferson Professional Center I. The event will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
Participants may visit the 3-D Mammography Suite and the new Caring MRI Suite, where staff will explain the benefits of 3-D mammography and the suite, both technologies in the fight against breast cancer, according to a news release.
“Guests will have the opportunity to visit with radiologist, Shannon Turner, M.D., who will discuss the diagnosis of breast cancer. Dr. Turner will also be interviewed on a Facebook live video during the open house. Follow JRMC’s Facebook page for more information,” according to the release.
Women who would like to have a mammogram at the open house may call JRMC Centralized Scheduling in advance at 870-541-7393 to make an appointment. Regular fees apply and most insurance is accepted. Women who are 40 and older are eligible for an annual screening mammogram, according to the release.
