Jefferson Regional Medical Center and Arkansas Blood Institute will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17 at JRMC in south classrooms 2 and 3.
Thanks to its volunteer donors, ABI provides all the blood at JRMC. Twenty one hospitals in western and south central Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma rely on ABI donors.
“Someone needs blood every two seconds, and since blood can only be used for 42 days, we constantly need people to donate,” said Dr. John Armitage, president and CEO of ABI. “Blood is always in need, which is why we are asking Pine Bluff-area residents to come out and donate.”
