March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and Jefferson Regional Medical Center is offering free at-home screening kits to the public Monday through Friday, March 27-31.
To receive a free kit, stop by JRMC’s main lobby between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Members of the JRMC Auxiliary will be handing out the free kits during that time.
“Even though cases of colorectal cancer have been declining in recent years due to early detection, it is still the third most common cancer in the U.S.,” says Rebecca Pittillo, executive director of marketing and philanthropy at JRMC. “The at-home test is only a screening, but it may indicate the need for a visit to your physician.”
