Jefferson County Tax Collector Tony Washington is running for reelection.
“Better days are coming,” Washington said in a news release. “I am so honored that you have allowed me to serve you as your county collector. I am running for re-election to continue my service to you.
“We have been through some tough times these past few years and I know better days are coming. I’m dedicated to serving you through the good and the bad and my promise to you is to leave this place better than how I found it,” he said.
Washington said his office has made many upgrades since he have been in office, but he’s not done yet.
“As we continue to lead the state in real time tax collecting, more and more counties are following in our footsteps. As your collector, I have served on the Continuing Education Board for the Arkansas Collectors Association for the past three years to not only help Jefferson County, but to help all of Arkansas County Collectors. Please join me in my re-election campaign to not only make your county collector’s office better, but the entire county of Jefferson,” Washington said.
The party filing period is Nov. 3-11, according to the secretary of state’s office. The primary election is March 3, 2026.
