The Jefferson County Reading Council will give away books and sponsor a literacy event from 8–11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Saracen Landing Farmer’s Market.
The community is invited to bring children to receive books and participate in the activity. The council is asking members to tell others about the event and to volunteer to help man a booth for a 30 minute shift.
