The Extension Homemakers County Council in Jefferson County is seeking members for a new EHC club. The new Extension Homemakers Club will meet at St. Andrews Missionary Baptist Church, 5810 Malcomb St., at Pine Bluff, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 30.
“Being an Extension Homemaker means belonging to one of the largest adult volunteer organizations in Arkansas,” according to a news release from Mary Ann Kizer, Jefferson County Family and Consumer Sciences agent. “The mission of Extension Homemakers is to empower individuals and families to improve their quality of living through continuing education, leadership development and community service.”
“Jefferson County Extension Homemakers help extend the resources of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service into their communities through educational opportunities and community service projects. Members have the opportunity to learn with others, make new friends, and contribute to their community, county and state,” Kizer said.
Extension Homemaker members are various ages, working parents, married or single.
“EHC members come from diverse backgrounds and have a rich history, but most importantly, they have a bright and exciting future,” she said.
