The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishments which include restaurants, bars, daycares, schools, grocery stores, convenience stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspections are made unannounced by environmental health specialists.

The following are the results of food safety inspections conducted by the Jefferson County Health Unit:
• Shell Quick Mart, 2310 Olive St. Date of inspection Jan. 9. Need paper towels or other hand drying device at hand-washing sink in restroom.
• Dollar General, 1414 E Harding Ave. Date of inspection Jan. 8. Paper towels not observed at hand-washing sink in restroom. Paper towels or other hand drying device should be available at all hand-washing sinks. Paper towels were placed at hand-washing sink during inspection.
• Fast Mart, 2504 S. Cherry St. Date of inspection Jan. 9. Need soap at all hand-washing sinks. Need paper towels or other hand-drying device at all hand-washing sinks.
