Deputy Alec Hoffman, Deputy Cameron McCaskill and Deputy Cierra Washington of the Jefferson County sheriff’s office graduated Thursday from the Basic Law Enforcement Training Course at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in Camden.

This 13-week, 649-hour course is designed to train students in the basic duties of a law enforcement officer who serves in Arkansas. After completing this course and a one-year probationary period, deputies will be certified law enforcement officers in Arkansas, according to a news release.

“We are proud of Deputies Hoffman, McCaskill and Washington for their hard work, resilience and dedication displayed during this training period and look forward to seeing them move forward in their careers as law enforcement officers with the JCSO,” a spokesman said.
