The Jefferson County Democratic Women will host a Membership Tea from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the Garden Room of the Holiday Inn Express at The Pines mall.
A special guest at the event will be state Sen. Linda Pondexter Chesterfield, assistant president pro tempore, 2nd District.
Chesterfield served three consecutive terms in the Arkansas House of Representatives before her election to the State Senate. During the 88th General Assembly, she served as chairman of the Senate Transportation, Technology, and Legislative Affairs Committee as well as holding memberships on several other committees. She is a retired educator and currently has a professional consulting firm.
The tea is an opportunity for the women of Jefferson County to learn more about the organization and its activities and to consider becoming members. The public is invited as well as current members and their guests.
This event will serve as the group’s February meeting.
