The Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service, 500 S. Idaho St., will host the Jefferson County Cover Crop Workshop at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5. The free event will be followed by dinner at 5 p.m.
Topics include a cover crop survey; erosion, sedimentation and turbidity; agronomic benefits of cover crops; cover crop establishment in Arkansas; weed suppression and cover crop termination; pest considerations when using cover crops; and nutrient retention with cover crops.
The local extension service is a part of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service’s statewide network and the University of Arkansas System’s Division of Agriculture.
