Jefferson County Courthouse will host early voting for primary runoff races

Jefferson County voters will head back to the polls March 31 for the primary runoff election in three races. Early voting begins at the Jefferson County Courthouse on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will run through 5 p.m. March 30, according to the Jefferson County clerk’s office.

RUNOFFS ON THE DEMOCRATIC TICKET:

County judge candidates are Efrem B. Neely Sr. and Judge Gerald Robinson. Neely had 2,080 votes in the primary and Robinson 1,779.

Justice of the peace District 1 candidates are Jackie Tillmon and incumbent Alfred Carroll. Tillmon had 321 votes and Carroll 263 in the primary.

RUNOFF ON THE REPUBLICAN TICKET:

The candidates for secretary of state are state Sen. Kim Hammer and Bryan Norris. Norris had 91,551 votes and Hammer 89,031.

PROSECUTING ATTORNEY RACE:

The runoff for prosecuting attorney in the 11th West Judicial Circuit will be held during the Nov. 3 general election. Candidates are Karres Manning-Center and Evelyn Moorehead.
