The Jefferson County Conservation District will host a locally-led work group meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 30, at the district office at the federal building, 100 E. Eighth Ave., Suite 3611.
Local landowners are invited to attend. The group will discuss which resource concerns, practices, funding categories and ranking questions are needed for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service’s Environmental Quality Incentives Program county-based funding, a spokesman said in a news release.
“Local-led work groups provide valuable advice to NRCS concerning the implementation of conservation programs in their counties. The locally led conservation effort is the foundation of the USDA’s conservation program delivery process,” the spokesman said.
