The community is invited to attend a Jefferson County Candidate Forum at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
This event is a non-partisan forum, according to a press release from the Pine Bluff Branch of the NAACP.
The forum will include candidates for Jefferson County tax collector, sheriff, county judge, Pine Bluff city council ward 1 position 2, city council ward 3 position 2 and city council ward 4, position 2.
The NAACP is the lead organization for the forum. Its partners are the Pine Bluff Branch of the National Association of University Women, Divine 9, and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff National Pan Hellenic Greek Council Undergraduate Chapters.
“We believe it is important for the voting electorate to know and understand the candidates and the positions that they will hold,” a spokesman said.
The moderator will be retired judge Marion Humphrey to be introduced by Judge Earnest Brown Jr.
