Jefferson County Judge Dutch King on Tuesday morning reinstated a burn ban in Jefferson County that will be in effect until further notice.
“Due to extreme temperatures and lack of needed precipitation dry conditions exist over all of Jefferson County,” King said in his official notice of the burn ban, which was filed with the Jefferson County Clerk. “This increases the level of fire danger tremendously. It is with this in mind that a burn ban has been issued for all of Jefferson County including the cities of Pine Bluff, White Hall, Humphrey, Sherrill, Altheimer, Wabbaseka and Redfield.”
Lincoln County is also under a burn ban.
