The Jefferson County 4-H program has scheduled two days of educational activities during the week of spring break, which will be observed by local school districts Monday through March 23.
According to Pia Woods, county Extension agent-4-H Youth Development, these activities are a continuing effort by the county 4-H program to provide hands-on activities for youth in the areas of leadership and healthy lifestyles education.
“Teen Topics Tuesday” is a day of experiential activities designed specifically for teenagers. Topics to be covered include public service, business etiquette, Internet safety, résumé writing and interviews. Youth, 13-18 years old, are invited to participate in this session, which will be held from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m., Tuesday in the conference room of the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service, 500 Idaho St.
A health and fitness day camp will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 21. Kids between the ages of 9 and 12 are invited to participate in the day camp, which will also be held in the Extension Service conference room. Topics to be covered include nutrition, mental and emotional well-being, first aid and lots of interactive activities including yoga, dancing and kickball.
