Jefferson center to introduce students in health-related program

Ten students have been selected for the second annual Pre-Health Professionals Academy Internship orientation program.

Students will be recognized Nov. 7 at 8:30 a.m. at the Jefferson Area Technical Career Center, 221 S. Beech St.

The effort is a collaborative partnership between the area center and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

The JATCC-UAMS College of Health Professions: Pre-Health Professionals Academy Internship is available to all high schools in Jefferson County.

Students enrolled in the academy have an opportunity to pursue health-related professions by participating in the Student Health Careers Exposure Program. The goal of SHEP is to provide exposure to health fields and specialties in addition to hands-on experience through a shadowing and internship program.
