A triple-double by University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff junior guard Doctor Bradley was merely a consolation during Monday’s lopsided road loss.
Jackson State defeated the UAPB men’s basketball team 94-78 at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center in Jackson, Miss.
Bradley led UAPB (4-20, 1-10 SWAC) with 22 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and four steals, all team highs. Dante Sawyer followed with 18 points, while Quentin Bolton Jr. scored 12 and Caleb Jones scored 10.
The Golden Lions shot 43.5% from the field and made 7 of 19 from 3-point range. UAPB has had free throw struggles in recent games but made 17 of 18 from the line Monday.
It wasn’t enough for UAPB. Christian Moore and Bolton hit early 3-pointers to lead 6-3, but Jackson State (8-16, 8-3) responded with a 16-0 run and led by double digits the rest of the night. The Tigers went on to lead by as much as 86-54 with 9:42 remaining in the second half.
UAPB finished the game on a 12-0 run, but the game had long been decided by a Jackson State team that shot 57.9% from the field and made 13 of 31 3-pointers.
JSU freshman guard Dorian McMillian led the Tigers with 17 points, followed by Keiveon Hunt with 13.
