A kick-off event will be held for a job-training program for young adults with developmental disabilities, according to a news release.
Project SEARCH Arkansas: ACCESS Initiative in partnership with Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The session will be held in conference room 1 of the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) building.
The innovative job-training project will provide a nine-month internship program for young adults with developmental disabilities, according to the release.
“Interns in the program complete three 10-week rotations at a partnering business with the goal of gaining necessary skills to obtain competitive employment. Upon completion of the program, staff members will aid with finding employment within the community and continued support during employment,” according to the release.
