Indigo Blue Coffeehouse, 212 W. Barraque St., will host Patrick Oliver, a nationally known literary and education consultant, during “Coffee and Conversation.”
The event will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, and it’s free and open to the public.
“Coffee and Conversation” is the first of a series the coffeehouse will host, Mary Ann Lee, owner of Indigo Blue, said in a news release.
Oliver, an author and book editor, is also the host of a national talk-show and founder of Say It Loud! Readers and Writers, an organization dedicated to promoting reading and writing as tools of personal, educational and career development, according to the release.
“He is the author of On My Own: Vision Guidebook for Young People, contributor to Open the Door: How to Excite Young People About Poetry, and editor of Essence Magazine’s best-selling anthology, Turn the Page and You Don’t Stop: Sharing Successful Chapters in Our Lives with Youth,” according to the release.

Oliver has been featured on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, CSpan, Book TV and other programs.
“Coffee and Conversation” will also feature Vickie Newton, founder of The Village Celebration, an Arkansas-based multi-media firm, as moderator. Parents, educators and youth organization leaders are encouraged to attend.
