Interested Citizens for Voter Registration named winners of the KingFest scholarship and essay awards.
During the 33rd annual KingFest Celebration, students competed in an essay/writing competition and wrote a 200-word essay on the theme: “Living the Dream: What is Your Dream for the Future?”
The scholarship winner was Sadagicious Owens, a senior at Pine Bluff High School with a GPA of 4.09, who received a $250 book scholarship.
Essay winners were first place: Torri Richardson, a senior at Pine Bluff High School, received $75; second place: Kaiti Shelton, a junior at Watson Chapel High School, received $50; and third place: Daniel Johnson II, also a junior at Watson Chapel, received $25.
