I have nothing but “LOVE” for PB

Editor, The Commercial:

The Bible states in John 3:16, for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that who so ever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

In “One Black Man’s View” we need more love for Pine Bluff, love that is shown through actions, and not through words. Pine Bluff can be a more loving place to live, but we must be willing to do our part to make it so.

A hindrance in my view to Pine Bluff being a more loving place to live is apathy, that state of mind where people merely exist, where people just go along, where people say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, a state of mind where people are satisfied, showing little to no interest in progressing. Apathy causes one to develop the attitude of the three monkeys in the often-used illustration, see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil, even though evil is all around, choosing to ignore evil, until they are affected by evil.

There is a saying that evil prospers because good people do nothing. My appeal is to the good people of Pine Bluff to join me and:

• Let’s show our “LOVE” for Pine Bluff by helping to “Stop Crime and Violence” in Pine Bluff

• Let’s show our “LOVE” for Pine Bluff by helping to “Save Our Children” in Pine Bluff

• Let’s show our “LOVE” for Pine Bluff by helping to “Better our Economic Condition” in Pine Bluff

• Let’s show our “LOVE” for Pine Bluff by helping to “Elect Good Politicians” in Pine Bluff

My closing thoughts are from the words of the late rapper Heavy D; I got nothing but “LOVE” for you Pine Bluff.
