Interstate 530 work will require a traffic shift between White Hall and Jefferson starting Monday, June 15, according to the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.
The work is part of a project to reconstruct 6.1 miles of I-530, including the rehabilitation of two bridges. The work will be performed between Jefferson and Highway 104, north of Pine Bluff. The project should be complete in late 2018. Cranford Construction Co. of North Little Rock was awarded the contract at $28,187,928.
Crews will begin Monday, June 15, installing a concrete barrier wall on a section of I-530 southbound, reducing traffic to one lane between mile markers 23 and 27. The installation will begin at mile marker 23, south of Redfield. They hope to complete the installation at mile marker 27, north of White Hall on Wednesday, June 17. Once work in this area is complete, the barrier wall and lane closure will extend to mile marker 30.
Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ArkansasHighways.com
