Hubbard back Capitol after night in hospital
Rep. Jon Hubbard, R-Jonesboro, was back at the Capitol on Wednesday after spending a night in the hospital.
Hubbard, 65, was taken from the Capitol by ambulance Tuesday after he reported experiencing shortness of breath.
Doctors administered tests and believed he may have been suffering from dehydration, said Katherine Vasilos, spokeswoman for the state Republican Party.
During last year’s session Hubbard suffered a minor heart attack and had a stent inserted to treat arterial blockage.

Senate honors Miss Arkansas
Former state Sen. Bobby Glover of Carlisle was a proud “paw paw” on the Senate floor Wednesday when his granddaughter, Miss Arkansas Kristen Glover of Stuttgart, was honored by the Senate.
The beauty queen, a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University, told the Senate how proud she was of her grandfather and how she understands the sacrifices lawmakers make by watching him when he served in the Legislature.
Kristen Glover was selected Miss Arkansas last July and participated in the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas in January.
She plans to attend the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy in the fall.
She also was honored in the state House.
Bethune signs books at Capitol
Former Congressman Ed Bethune of Searcy signed copies of his new book Wednesday at the Capitol.
The book, titled “Jackhammered,” is about his life, including his difficult childhood, service in the U.S. Marines, as an FBI agent, prosecuting attorney, an Arkansas congressman from 1979 to 1985 and a Washington lobbyist.
Bethune was honored on the Senate floor, accompanied by his wife, Lana. Bethune praised the senators for the work they do in a bipartisan fashion.
“It’s a challenge to work through a very complicated process … and most importantly it will be good for the people,” he said.
