The HOPE Community Coalition in collaboration with the Future Builders Inc. will hold Drug Awareness Day with 9th grade students at Dollarway High School on Monday, Oct. 21, during health classes. An event recognizing Red Ribbon Week will take place Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 4 p. m. at the Merrill Community Center, 1001 Ash St.
The purpose is to increase community awareness through education about the dangers of using alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Youth at the Red Ribbon event will receive red ribbons along with a copy of the story of how Red Ribbon began. There will be activities and prizes for all.
