Maintenance work at various Pine Bluff locations will require temporary lane closures, according to the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.
From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, April 18-21, weather permitting, work will be done on U.S. 63B at the intersection with Interstate 530. Once completed the crews will progress to the other areas listed.
The outside north and southbound lanes of U.S. 63B will be closed two at a time (one in each direction) from I-530 to the Bayou Bartholomew Bridge. The outside southbound lane of U.S. 63B will be closed from 39th Avenue to 46th Avenue.
After closing these lanes, the old asphalt surface will be milled out. The crews will then drop back and inlay these same sections, reopening these lanes.
The crews will then proceed to U.S. 63B (Main Street). The outside north bound lane of U.S. 63B will be closed from Harding Avenue to the Post Office (at Eighth Avenue). After closing, the same procedure will be used. Traffic will be controlled with signs and traffic drums during the lane closures.
Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
