The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid to reconstruct 2.9 miles of State Highway 4 between McGehee and Arkansas City.
Kiewit Infrastructure South Co. of Fort Worth, Texas, was awarded the contract at approximately $7.4 million for the Desha County improvements.
According to the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid-2017.
