Highway 278 work to begin in Drew County

In December, the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department announced plans to improve a portion of Highway 278, about two miles east of Monticello, the location of two curves that have been the site of several crashes.

The first stage of these improvements occurred in December. Beginning next week, weather permitting, crews will install rumble strips along the shoulders and rumble stripes along the centerline through the curves at this location.

Later this summer crews will install a High Friction Surface Treatment through the westernmost curve of the route.

Drivers should use caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Details: IDriveArkansas.com or ArkansasHighways.com
