Healing time after election

People, we must remember that the presidential election was never about one person; be it Democrat or Republican. It is about doing what is right for the entire country. Stop trying to figure out why things are the way that they are and concentrate on what God expects from each of us.

After all, God created this big, beautiful world along with everyone and everything in it. It is his purpose that everyone is to love one another no matter their race, sex or religion.

“This is My commandment that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15: 12- 13)

We are all of one father, our gardener, and one vine with branches that must bear fruit or be cut away. Every time you get angry about the outcome of the presidential election you need to ask yourself, “What would Jesus do?” For those who know him, all we can do is smile, because that is exactly what he would do as he knows that God has the final say. Not man.

We do not all have to agree with the outcome, because this in itself is an impossible task, but we do have to move on and accept things as they are for everything in this life was preordained. After all of the name calling, angry protests, destroying of property, bullying of others, and other hateful acts, the electoral outcome will still be the same.

We can however choose how we treat each other, which will ultimately decide all of our fates. Please look deep inside yourselves to find something else to focus on that will serve the greater good of us all. When your fellow brethren choose to do otherwise, do not seek revenge.

“If it is possible as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord. On the contrary if your enemy is hungry feed him: if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12: 18-21)

In church, love is our code so shall it be in life. Choose love over hate. Life over death. Good over evil, and everything else will work out fine. Teach it to your children, so they can teach it to others. Children are born of love, and it is up to us to keep it that way. To allow our children to harm or terrorize others is contradictory to the word of God, and his plan for us to bear fruit, which is why their sins in youth fall onto us as parents.

So remember, when you are unsure on how to live your lives, and how to love and care for others, then fall back on the word of God. It has not let me down, nor will it let you down.
