An increase in covid infections has forced the White Hall School District to keep fifth-graders from Hardin Elementary School home today, Thursday and Friday, according to a press release.
“The White Hall School District continues to follow the Arkansas Department of Health’s COVID-19 guidance,” stated the release. “Our desire is to provide face-to-face instruction for our students; however, the number of positive and quarantined students in 5th grade at Hardin Elementary has increased to 30%. This increase will require the 5th grade at Hardin Elementary to pivot home from Wednesday, September 29th through Friday, October 1st. All other students will continue on-site instruction.”
While fifth-grade students are being taught virtually, teachers will provide all assignments through Google Classroom.
“Teachers will be on campus for students to contact through email, Google Classroom, and Google Meet,” according to the release. “Chromebooks will be sent home with students. Students that wish to pick up lunch should notify the school office by 9 a.m.”
The district also asked for cooperation from parents.
“We must work together to keep our school and community healthy,” stated the release. “Do not allow your child to attend school if they are sick. Students must be fever-free for 48 hours before returning to school. Masks are required while indoors and should be worn correctly. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your school office.”
