The Arkansas Community Foundation is accepting grant proposals until Thursday, Oct. 1, through the Science Initiative for Middle Schools (SIMS) program.
SIMS offers up to $500 in classroom materials for hands-on science, technology, engineering and math instruction. Through this program, middle school science teachers in grades five to eight can receive up to $500 worth of materials. Public school teachers throughout Jefferson County directly served by the Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation are eligible to apply.
Teachers should go to www.DonorsChoose.org/SIMS to complete an online application, select the science materials needed for their project and explain how supplies will be used to teach STEM skills.
