On Sept. 15, a fundraiser/bazaar will begin at 7 a.m. and a community health fair at 9 a.m. at Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 S. Wisconsin St.
Sponsored by the Grace Temple Outreach Community Development Corp., the event will also feature
horseback riding, golf games, jump zones, face painting and barbecue dinners.
“What makes this event special are the health issues that we are attempting to address, such as HIV/AIDS, bone marrow donor registry, vision test, BMI weight checks and cholesterol screening,” said Cornelius Hall, president of the non-profit faith-based corporation.
Participants will also include Watson Chapel Junior High’s Dance Team (scheduled to perform at 10 a.m.), Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department, UAPB’s HIV/Aids Peer Educators, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Mobile Command Unit, Pine Bluff High School Marching Band (scheduled to perform at 11 a.m.), Dollarway High School cheerleaders and Jefferson Regional Medical Center School of Nursing.
