LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Mike Beebe on Monday signed into law a $4.7 billion budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1.
The budget is encompassed in matching House and Senate bills that cleared those bodies on Friday. Beebe signed both versions of the bill, his office said.
The governor approved keeping spending flat for most agencies but increasing funding by $114 for Medicaid and by $56 million for public schools. Some colleges and universities also will receive increases.
The Legislature is scheduled to return to the Capitol on Friday to formally adjourn the fiscal session.
