Gov. plans to pardon 4 from county

Governor Asa Hutchinson announced Monday he intends to issue pardons to four Jefferson County residents.

The applicants have completed all jail time, fulfilled all pardon and probationary requirements and paid all fines related to their sentences. There is a 30-day waiting period for public comments before final action is taken.

Those who are slated to receive pardons, the crimes convicted of and county of conviction are as follows:

* Cedric T. Albritton, Pine Bluff, convicted of second-degree forgery and forgery probation revocation in 1989 and 1992 in Jefferson County.There are no law enforcement objections to the application.

* Donald L. Banks, Pine Bluff, convicted of five counts delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance in 1993 in Arkansas County and 1994 in Pulaski County. The Circuit Judge of Arkansas County has raised objections to this application.

* Brittany Mayo, Pine Bluff, convicted of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in Jefferson County in 2009. There are no law enforcement objections to this application.

* Kristopher P. McDaniel, White Hall, convicted of manslaughter in Grant County in 1999. The Prosecuting Attorney has raised objections to the application.

The Governor intends to pardon seven other people from various parts of the state and commute one sentence. An additional 45 applications were denied and five had no action taken on them.
