Gifted and Talented students going to global finals

Scoggins-May-Hall’s Gifted and Talented Secondary Imagination Team, coached by Toni Jasper, won first place in the Destination Imagination State Competition in Benton on March 31.

The Pine Bluff High School seniors participating are CeVon Corbin, Shequil Jones, Larry Williams, Stephen Jackson, DeQuaron Dale, Alex Smith and Jasmine Stith.

Destination Imagination is a community-based, school-friendly program that builds participants’ creativity, problem solving skills, and promotes teamwork.

Winning first place qualifies the team to receive $1,000 toward their trip to Knoxville, Tenn., during the week of May 22 to 27 to compete in the Global Competition where 125,000 students across the U.S. and in more than 30 countries compete. More than 1,000 students of this season’s highest scoring teams are scheduled to attend.
