National Geographic will be in Arkansas conducting free workshops for the Mississippi River National Geographic Geotourism Program Monday through Friday, July 13-17.
Southeast Arkansas workshops will be held at 5 p.m. July 17 at Lakeport Plantation at Lake Village; at 9 a.m. at Gillett (location to be determined); and 1 p.m. at McGehee (location to be determined).
Geotourism encompasses agritourism, local cuisine, cultural tourism, sightseeing, eco-tourism, heritage tourism and Native American cultural tourism. Any business or recreation provider is encouraged to attend.
