A gardening project by Karleah Harris, assistant professor in the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Department of Human Sciences, recently brought together grandparents, great-grandparents and children. Participants included Frances Rodgers (left) Johnny Jynes, Karleah Harris, Staci Irby, grandson Carter Martin (in front of Irby) Carolyn Jackson, great-granddaughter Erynn Jones (in front of Jackson) and Kevin Harris. The gardeners tilled the soil, planted seeds, and harvested fruits, vegetables and herbs. Participants also learned about sweet potatoes, stormwater management and effective parenting techniques, according to Karleah Harris.
