Friendship Baptist auxiliary presents quarterly meeting

RISON — The Friendship Missionary Baptist Association District Ladies’ Auxiliary of Southeast Arkansas met July 12. Their second quarterly meeting of 2018 was held at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church near Rison, according to a news release from Mildred Carter, the reporter.

Thirty nine women and guests attended the meeting. Sandra Crofford of Southside Missionary Baptist Church at Star City presided over the session that began with the singing of “I’ll Fly Away,” according to the release.

Secretary-treasurer Donna Collins conducted the roll call and reading of the minutes. The group also voted on the October mission goal to be the Arkansas State Association missionaries’ salary fund.

An offering was received for the July mission goal, the Outreach Bible Project (previously known as Olympic Bible Project) sponsored by Hillcrest Missionary Baptist Church of Acworth, Ga.

After Crofford sang “Written in Red,” Neoldy Perkins of Little Rock and Judy Harris of Sheridan spoke on “Faith Your Fears.”

James Calhoun of Arkadelphia gave an update on various mission works in the state.

Throughout the meeting and lunch, served by the church, drawings were made for several gifts provided by the host church. The Oct. 12 meeting will be with Southside at Star City.
